It was a rather odd experience standing in Furinkan in this manner. The sheer scale of difference between viewing it as a 2D work as compared to actually being in it, appreciating the depth and taking in the sights... Seeing the people move! Actually move in an organic and realistic manner, as opposed to either standing stock still or making minimalist expressions to save on the budget... It was a whole new place, yet completely the same to the one he was already used to seeing in the series. The simulation was rather incredible!
Nobody was looking right now, but Nalidiel ducked into a corner and turned himself invisible. It meant he couldn't touch anything, but right now this was his only trick. First thing's first, let's find a cast member. Then since this was all he had, it would be time to figure out how to make this problem look like a nail.
And then, right past him... there went Akane Tendo on her morning jog. Excellent. If nothing else, following her would lead right back to the Tendo residence. Nalidiel willed himself to float lightly over towards her as it was quite impossible to move in any other way in this form. No traction on the ground, can't walk. Feet would go through the pavement.
He hovered just over her left shoulder, and considered for a moment just what to try out.
Take your shirt off, he whispered.
Akane stopped in her tracks and shot a look of pure malice right at him. For a terrifying fraction of a second, Nalidiel was afraid she could see him... but then she started looking around, quite thoroughly confused. He let out a breath that he hadn't known he'd been holding then his heart elated and sank again in the blink of an eye. Not going to be that easy, then. She resumed the jog, and Nalidiel watched her retreating form from a bit of a distance. Nice figure, very fit. Long hair down her back. It was a miracle he'd recognised her given the hair, but if this really was the beginning of the series then that made good sense. No doubt she's still fighting off the boys every morning and is currently blissfully unaware of the existance of cursed springs or the arranged marriage. Right now her biggest concern was how to dissuade Kuno. She was probably thinking about it right now.
Nalidiel blinked. Could that be it? Could that be the supposed use of this apparently useless talent? In theory, it might just work. Certainly a good explanation for why it had failed before. He hadn't considered his target, how she thought and behaved. He floated closer again.
My nose is itchy, he whispered, and almost yelped in delight when she idly scratched her nose. Next test! My chin is itchy was met with further success, as was My neck is itchy. Now came the real test. My breasts are itchy.
She did it without question or hesitation. Just an idle scratch, but she wasn't done yet. Still itchy Nalidiel insisted. A look of discomfort crossed Akane's face, and she once again reached for her breast. At the moment the fingers came into contact, Nalidiel whispered once again. That feels nice, prompted a satisfied sounding sigh escaping Akane's lips, prompting her to stop jogging for just a moment before continuing on her way.
The lust demon in training decided to leave it at that for now. Knowing this character she'd actively resist anything more perverted... for now. Now he got it. Now he understood this, his only real skill. And he understood why others didn't like it so much. Other more advanced techniques dragged a person's thought process along to a predetermined point. This one required more of a commitment, required a thought process to be guided towards a destination. Nalidiel estimated there were two ways to accomplish this. The first was by following the thoughts of a person as they were thinking them, gradually steering them into the intended destination... Or more innocuous and innocent seeming thoughts could be whispered in their ear, which were in truth guiding them down a path of perversion. For now, Nalidiel would wait and pick his spots. A plan was beginning to form, and his confidence beginning to rise... Perhaps a few more tests would be warranted to make quite certain it worked the way he thought it did?
The real question could be boiled down to this: At what point should he make his next move?
