I got to say, Happy being her dad is a really good twist. My mind is racing in ways on how that could be. The easiest way would be Happosai giving Soun Akane to raise with the intent she would inherit his school. Or maybe after trapping Happy and Soun and Genma go their ways, Akane's mother comes to Soun and asks for him to raise her Akane as she is ill and dying.
Lord, if the later suggestion is what happens, then Akane lost two mothers in her life. That would stink.
Yeah, Akane as Happosai's kid is the most entertaining option here. Couldn't it just be that Happosai slept with Mrs. Tendo? I mean, would Happi actually entrust Soun with his heir? Maybe, I dunno.
Okay here are a few of my ideas for how Happosai became Akane's father.
1. Happosai wanted an heir for his school, since he's way to old to get it up anymore, and he trusted Genma to produce a suitable ch1ld, but he sees Soun as a wimp unless he has his wife around to give him 'The Power OF Love' so Happosai using some ancient magic ritual or esoteric martial arts technique to basically put his essence into Soun so there was a 1/3 chance that a ch1ld of Soun would really be a ch1ld of Happosai.
2. A much younger Happosai travels forward in time via the Nanban mirror and knocks up a very drunk Kimiko Tendo, before going back to the past. He doesn't remember this until he meets Akane after escaping.
3. Happosai is actually a great grandfather on both sides of the Tendou family and Akane just got the genes.
4. Happosai escaped years early around the time Akane was born and decides this would be his ultimate revenge on Soun to steal newborn Akane and raise her as his own. Then bringing her back to the Tendo about a year before Ranma arrives, to see them suffer and to plan his revenge on Genma.
This would be easier if Takahashi had properly done a timeline like One Piece did.
Your fourth idea is almost identical to an option elsewhere on the site that I plan to hit eventually. Except in that one, Happosai took both Ranma and Akane as revenge. Was that one of yours?
The Nanban Mirror idea is an interesting one. But the "Essence of Happosai" through Soun is the one that entertains me most. It's actually kind of Takahashi-esque, and it gives more substance to the idea of Akane as a super-pervert than if she'd only inherited his genes.
The Essence of Happosai is a nice idea. It would also bring up a particular story line: Does Akane recognize Happosai as her father or not? While he may have provided the "essence" that made her, she was raised by Soun.
I am also getting the image of a young Akane when her mother died, sleeping with Kasumi out of depression and fondling her breasts in the sleep.
