As he jostled in the White Rabbit's bouncing cleavage, Willie tried to sort things through. Edith had been eager to help him, and her innocence was a surprisingly potent defense, but it potentially could have affected him, as well. The White Rabbit, on the other hand, was also eager, but eager on her own terms, and determined to make it to her appointment. How could he convince her to help him find Jim?
It was then, as he pondered Jim and the dream machine, that Willie sensed something a bit...odd. The White Rabbit's dream energy signature had the distinct tinge of someone that had been heavily altered by the dreams, but there was something else. It took him a moment to focus on it, but as he completed his analysis, he couldn't help but gasp. The White Rabbit herself was Jim! Or rather, what remained of Jim.
But if that was the case, who was controlling the dream machine? Did Jim have an accomplice turn on him? Was it a saboteur? Whatever the case, the dream effects had certainly taken their toll on him. Then again, it might have also explained Edith's state; perhaps when Jim went down, he wanted to ensure his sister would be spared, at least to a degree.
Eventually, Willie realized that all of this pondering wasn't getting him anywhere. There were too many unknowns. Maybe it would be just best to keep riding along for the time being?
