Ranko thought over and over about Ukyo being male, and after pondering it, she realized at at she herself wasn't exactly straight. It was obvious in hindsight. If she was straight, she wouldn't find Ukyo attractive, right? And despite the fact that she saw Ukyo in a bikini and gratious breasts, Ranko saw her as a guy. Which didn't make sense. Ukyo's body was obviously female yet Ranko still thought of her as a guy. And when she tried to think of a male Ukyo, it always ended up looking exactly the same, all parts female. Perhaps it was the comprise of the situation. Ranko didn't want to live the life of a guy and wanted to be the girl, which meant being with a guy in her mind. It dawned on her that she was forcing it. She wasn't attracted to the male body, it was the attitude, the other intangibles that made a person.
So Ranko kept Ukyo's sex intact. If she really wanted to have k1ds or a penis inside her, instant Jusenkyo water would suffice. However, her ideal man still need to look the part. So she edited the profile to make it so Ukyo won't want to act or dress like a girl. Ranko would wear the dresses in that relationship.
