Sharon was woken abruptly by a stream of curses coming from her roommate. "Wassamatter?" she asked sleepily.
"Someone's played a mean trick. They somehow managed to get in here overnight and put a dog collar and leash on me."
Sharon started to laugh, until she realised that there was something around her own neck. She put her hand up to her throat and felt a collar there.
Getting out of bed to look at herself in the mirror on the far side of the room, she found that her collar had a leash as well, long enough that the last couple of feet of it trailed on the floor behind her.
She joined Robin, who was already gazing at herself in the mirror. "You too, then," Robin said, seeing Sharon's reflection join her own. In addition to their nighties, each girl now wore a plain bleck collar - that looked to be made of leather - around her neck, attached to a matching leash.
"Yep, me too," Sharon replied. "Did we forget to secure the door last night?"
Robin gestured towards the door. "No, see for yourself. The catch is still in place."
"How weird! Well I keep a knife in a drawer of my bedside table - you never know when one will come in useful - and it should cut through our collars easily enough."
Sharon went and got the knife, and then attempted to cut through her collar.
