There wasn't a cloud in the sky that day. In fact, the sun and warmth was welcome by all. It had been a cold winter, and the arrival of a warm spring day brought relief. Cabin fever was a terrible thing, especially for Dean.
Dean loved his motorcycle, but winter had left him with few chances to ride. Now was the time to dust off his two wheeled friend and head down to the track. He kicked the bike into gear and took off down the street. It was going to be a good day, Dean told himself.
At the track, he met parked his bike and saw four of his buddies. When he waved, they returned the gesture. Mike and Reggie were his best buds, and had known them since high school. Cassie was a college friend of Mike, and she looked the part of the stereotypical biker babe. The newcomer to their little band of riders was Linda. She had only gotten to know them a month ago, but she was a nice girl. Dean was glad she had joined them. Linda was a beautiful woman, and he wanted to take their friendship further.
" I've got a new stunt to show you," Mike told Dean.
" Be sure someone has a first aid kit," Reggie joked.
" Cut that out," Mike replied.
" Let's just ride," Cassie said. " Lucy's gone too long without some exercise." Lucy was Cassie's motorcycle.
" Agreed," Dean answered. " By the way, who's buying tonight?"
" I think it's my turn," Reggie said.
It was then that the sky started falling. There were no clouds, but a mist fell from the sky. Green drops fell to the ground, and onto all below. Dean and the others made for the nearest shelter, under the bleachers.
" I didn't hear any rain in the forecast," Linda said. " And why is it green?"
" That is weird. Not a single cloud," Reggie added. They kept below the bleachers, but the rain came and went quickly. The people dried themselves, but some of the green rain had already soaked into their skin. Soon it would do much more than that.
