While being three feet tall did not allow many decent opportunities for Arthur, he was grateful to Angie for hiring him to look after her miniature roommates while she and his giantess sister went out. He also appreciated how she made her home accessible for someone of his height, let alone for Tomo and Debra. He made his way up stairs toward Angie's bedroom to greet the smaller women. The dollhouse-like apartment complex was just tall enough to reach his chest. “Hello?,” he called out in playful tone. “Anyone home?” He saw a small head appear out the window of the bottommost apartment. Debra smiled up at him, saying, “Of course we're home, you big dork.”
“Oh, Debra,” replied Arthur. “You wound me with such harsh name-calling.”
“Give it a rest, you two,” said a voice from the apartment over Debra. “Now stop flirting and take us downstairs for supper.” Tomo, despite her size, she is still demanding and knew just how to get what she wanted. “Angie left everything in the oven for us.”
“Okay, okay.” Arthur never cared for Tomo's bossy attitude, but he was not one to go against his responsibilities. He knelt and brought a hand to each window. “Climb aboard, then.” Both women leapt into Arthur's hands, each the size of dolls compared to him. He carefully rose the two up to his shoulders where they sat and held onto the cloth of his shirt.
Arthur made his way downstairs and walked into the kitchen which included an island to eat from. Stretching his arms out, he carefully placed the two women on the tabletop before approaching the oven. Being the same height as the appliance, Arthur managed to pull open the oven. Inside he found two small dinner plates and one large, each portioned with the right amount of food made for people of varying sizes. Reaching into the oven, Arthur grabbed the smaller plates first and carrying them over to the counter. Using a stool, he climbed up until he was able to see Debra and Tomo waiting on the countertop. “Here we are,” said Arthur as he placed each plate in front of the women. He then climbed down the stool and went to retrieve his plate.
Before he walked back to the counter with his food, something shiny caught his eye.
He looked up to find the corner of some sort of object peering over the edge of the countertop next to the oven. Letting his curiosity get the better of him, Arthur stretched once more to reach for the mysterious object. His little fingers could barely brush the surface until he was able to move it toward him. After a moment of precise dexterity, Arthur felt the object fall into his hand, careful not to let it slip through his fingers. He was rectangular in shape and large for his hand. He noticed a series of buttons that lined the side of it. Holding the device in his hand, Arthur returned to Debra and Tomo with his own food, climbed the stool once more and began to eat his meal. The two women saw that Arthur was holding something, to which Tomo spoke first. “What's that?”
“I'm not sure,” said Arthur. “Looks like some kind of recorder.”
“Better not mess with it,” said Debra. “It might belong to Angie and could have some important information on it.”
Curious, Arthur push down on the Play button. To his surprise, only the sounds of crackling static can be heard from the device. “Well, it doesn't seem to have anything on it yet. Maybe Angie recently got it.”
“In any case, I wouldn't let her see me with it,” says Debra in between mouthfuls of mashed potatoes.
Arthur placed the recording device on the countertop and shrugged before digging into his own supper. The three ate and Arthur brought their plates to the sink along with the stool for him to climb in order to reach. After depositing the plates, he retrieved to Tomo and Debra and the three made their way to the living room to settle in for the evening to watch movies. Arthur made sure to take the recorder with him to toy with.
