Deciding he didn’t want to unnecessarily damage objects or hurt people he went ahead and made a change.
*I have such excellent control of my strength that even by accident I could not use enough force to cause harm or damage unless I intended to.*
That settled he once more picked up the couch using no more force then was necessary, he now had a much better sense of his strength.
“Well that was fun but its getting late and if I remember correctly I have an appointment tomorrow.” Memories filter in letting him know that he was set to go to the registration office for superpower affairs.
Registration was a pretty painless process, it was a lot like registering a new car with the dmv. It wasn’t heavily enforced but if you’re suspected or accused of a crime and it is discovered that you are unregistered, that can land you in hot water. It is also necessary if you want to become an official hero or join a team.
Official heroes functioned as a legally deputized militia within their country. They need to get permission from the city or a high ranking police officer before they are allowed to operate within the city. They are also subject to certain rules and regulations
The function of a team differs depending on their numbers. Small teams usually with no more than ten members tend to stick to a city. Middle teams can cover a whole state and have as many as 50 members. Large teams can cover an entire country as large as the U.S. and doesn’t really have an upper limit, they been known to have well over 100 members.
There are of course unofficial heroes or vigilantes. These characters refuse to go official either because they don’t trust the system, they refuse to be tied down by regulations or because their methods of dispensing justice doesn’t involve sending the perp to jail. The Law tends to turn a blind eye to vigilantes, but they do occasionally butt heads.
These thoughts went through Chris's mind as he got ready for bed. He knew he planned to become a hero but would he go solo, join a team, or do the dark night thing, he wasn’t sure. Heck just for kicks he might even do the villain thing he'll decide in the morning, for now, sleep.
