Miss Everts looked slightly suprised and said, "Actually, the position was for an Excutative Secretary, with Web Design skills. Is this going to be a problem?"

"Uhm...that isn't the position I thought I had applied for. Are you sure that I'm the person that was hired for this job?"

"Yes, you come highly recomended by your interviewer. If there has been some confusion, I am sure that we can clear it up fairly quickly," she stated quietly, as she picked up her phone, and called Human Resources. "Hello, may I speak to Stan please? Hello? Stan? My new assistant seems to think that he was actually hired for a different job."

She handed the phone to Jim and he quickly learned that . . .

1. *this new job paid much better than the one he had expected.
2. *the computer had fouled up, and the real secretary now had his job.
3. everybody on this floor was actually expecting someone named Gem.
