Suddenly the room grew slightly brighter, Nao's eyes widened in surprise, and Kaori got the distinct impression that someone or something had popped into existence behind her. She turned around to see it - and her heart started to pound in her chest.
Standing just where she'd found the panties was a woman. A woman who appeared to be only a few years older than herself, whose expression was utterly serene, and whose manner bespoke a lineage divine; Whose long, black hair drifted through the air like it was water, whose eyes flickered silver, whose flawless skin seemed almost to shine in the pure white light of her halo; A woman whose figure was right in Kaori's admittedly-broad strike zone, delicate and slender and willowy everywhere except her chest. A woman apparently in the midst of getting ready to bathe, undoing the hooks of her pale pink bra - a bra whose design perfectly matched the panties Kaori was holding - and which was, incidentally, the only item of clothing the woman still had on.
Kaori felt lucky to be alive, expressionless, and in the right place at the right time. Despite knowing the memory hadn't existed a moment before, she remembered who this heavenly vision was - and suddenly wished she'd paid more attention when being told how exactly they were related...
Nao felt faint, and wasn't sure if it was because of the blood loss or because of mind-bending the situation was. The Master hadn't been here, but now that she was she'd been here for a while, which meant that Nao had just walked in on her changing with Kaorin, except that it had only been Kaorin back then, although now that the Master had been here the whole time it meant that Kaorin had also walked in on her changing, but that her Master hadn't objected before now, which meant that presumably Kaorin was allowed to be in here, and that she was supposed to be holding her Master's discarded panties behind her back like that, except that the Master hadn't existed to object before now, and hadn't been around to notice, except that now she had been, which meant that... Hmm... This was complicated.
Realising she was observed, Hesediel stood straight.
As was her habit, she collated relevant facts in her mind:
1.a) This place of power was her new home.
1.b) It would serve as a safe haven from her sister, who fell.
1.c) She would protect it.
2.a) These two were her two maids, and would be in her employ from this day on.
2.b) While there were many who owed her allegiance, she would interact with these two more often than with most.
2.c.i) Both of them had come across as admirably hard-working in their interviews, which as of a moment ago had taken place a week earlier.
2.c.ii) Nao had been quite open about her reasons for wanting to work as a maid, while Kaori had been more guarded.
2.c.iii) And neither of them had mentioned anything about staring at her while she was naked.
3. She had an increasingly strong urge to go for a long, private walk somewhere with fewer people.
