Backstage: I'm not "Epstein"...

Unending BE - episode 129823

Epstein, having read the note, looked up, puzzled. "Huh? He asked. "Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Uh -- care to tell me what I did?"

And Sid, watching, said "Hey! That doesn't sound like a note to Epstein, but a note to an author!" He glanced up. "Any idea what it means, boss?"

And the voiceless presence of Deja Voodoo answered, eschewing that pain-in-the-ass centering for a change...

I'm afraid I do, Sid. Our friend F-Cup Fitzgerald obviously doesn't care for my linking practices, which of course is his privilege. Though I'm at something of a loss at why he would object to what I did with the "Woody Creek" episode. He messed with you, I followed up on his messes in what I thought was an entertaining way, and let you go on with your life. I can only assume that he wanted to play with you a little more. He's right, of course, that I take the same chances with my "alter ego" as everyone else, but so what? I specifically GAVE him and whoever else wanted to a chance to torture you, and he did, and I rescued you. That's the chance HE takes. Maybe he would have been happier if I had decided to torture his avatar in return, I don't know. Me, I don't like to do that. (Sorry, F-Cup.) Anyway, he can hereby consider this my apology for any distress and anger I might have caused him, and go back to playing. I'll do the same, albeit with a bit more care for whose toes I might be stepping on.

Oh, and for the record, I am definitely not who he seems to think I am, if I interpret his identification correctly! Irritating I may be. "The Enemy" I'm not!

"What all this for my benefit, or for his?" Sid asked.

What do you think? "I think I'd like to go back to the show, since you previously promised to steer clear of all these threads other than the one you already hijacked back. Didn't keep that promise very well, did you?"

I bow to your superior judgement, Sid. Very well. Watch your program and see what happens to Epstein after his apology.

"Thank you, I will."

  1. *And he does. Kotter tells Epstein...
