“Well… maybe later, we really need to get going.” Midna said reluctantly, drawing her hands away from the recently transformed heroine only to find herself being gripped harder.

“Just a little more?” Link whined, practically begging as she drew ouch each word. Midna squirmed mildly in discomfort, letting her know that they really couldn’t stay here much longer. They had a lot to do. There would be time for the two to spend alone together, but not here. Not now.

“Later, if you’re a good girl.” Midna teased, trying to lighten the mood with a half-hearted attempt at teasing. She seemed to have succeeded as Link finally let go, the imp rising from the ground as soon as she could, floating to be at eye level with her companion. She looked the girl over with a smile, that turned into a giggle, and eventually a laugh. Link cocked her head, worry spread across her face as she looked at the imp in confusion. Was something wrong? Was that moment all fake? She grew uncharacteristically self-conscious until finally, she began to probe for answers. “What? What is it? Stop laughing!” Link demanded. Her voice tempered with anxiety.

The imp continued to laugh, and through fits of uncontrollable giggles did her best to answer. “The outfit! It’s ridiculous!”

Link looked down at her black leotard, and her legs covered in slightly torn fishnet stockings. She didn’t entirely understand what Midna meant, but she had to agree, it was a strange outfit. Though she only began to grow annoyed as Midna tried and failed to stop her fit of giggles continuously. “It’s not that funny.” Link mumbled. But her feelings seemed to be drowned by now stifled laughs caught in Midna’s throat. Now, the moment was truly over. But there were no bitter feelings or sour notes. No, it just made Midna’s sweet words even sweeter. She could tell Midna truly didn’t see her much differently, even like this, after a transformation as well as a moment of weakness. The bond they shared was too strong to be warped or broken by something like this, if anything, it was stronger. “Give me a moment to change.” Link spoke. Midna only nodding in response as Link climbed the ladders of her home to fetch some proper clothes.

The first step was awkward and unsteady. Despite having larger feet, Link felt like her point of contact with the ground shrank. Fumbling to walk upright on her toes. The second step nearly sent her back to the ground. But with the third, she began to find her balance. Putting one foot in front of the other, Link began to walk confidently towards her wardrobe. Growing more aware of the ground beneath her feet as she began to truly notice just how sensitive the pads at the bottom of her feet were. She felt nearly every crack and scratch and gap between the boards as she walked. Even the subtle vibrations traveling through the ground caused by various things became known to her. Combined with her enhanced hearing, being so aware of the world around her put her more on edge. Ready to jump at a moment’s notice.

Even the creak of the wardrobes’ doors drawing opening made her heart pound more than ever. Despite the knowledge that it was her furred hands that caused the noise. She would have to grow used to these new senses. But at least she could wear some familiar clothes. She stripped naked of her leotard and pulled the slightly torn stockings off as gently as she could. Despite not wanting them, she didn’t want to damage them. She placed the articles of clothing away and pulled out her old village outfit. Though it likely wouldn’t fit right, Link thought it would be better than some strange leotard.

“What’s the hold up? We need to get going!” Midna called out. She had been impatient. Surely it didn’t take this long to get dressed. Though she had no experience with human clothes like Link had worn, she figured it should’ve only taken a minute. Though she did not dare check to see what was taking so long with her own eyes. She knew the girl needed some privacy right now.

“I’m nearly ready!” Link called back from just across the room.

“So, what’s taking so long then?” Midna questioned. “I’ve been staring at this wall forever! You could at least give me something interesting to look at if you planned to keep me waiting.”

Link mumbled something in response, though Midna didn’t hear what. She stretched back and yawned in annoyance. This was ridiculous. No one needed this long to get dressed in rags. “If you don’t hurry, I’m turning to look.” Midna’s threated, her tone stone cold with boredom. There was no verbal response, but she heard a pause. It waited. Waited too long. She was getting ready to turn her head when she heard the shuffling of clothing hurry with stifled grunts of annoyance coming from behind her. It brought a smile to her lips.

“Okay I’m ready!” Link called, and near instantly, Midna had turned to gaze at her. She had just finished tying her sash around her waist, but there she was, dressed in the same style of clothing as the rest of the village. Only, her old clothes had been adjusted, modified every so slightly. Link had cut up her one sleeve, leaving both shoulders exposed and arms bare. Though Midna could not see where that fabric had gone, Link had used it to make herself a makeshift bra. Though with little knowledge of women’s clothing, her breasts were not as supported as they should have been. Still to free and unwillingly stimulated due to the rushed job and material of the undergarment. She had also cut a hole in the back of her pants, allowing her tail to poke through. Furthermore, every knot had to be tightened much further to accommodate for her new proportions. Yet even still, her clothes hung loosely on her body. All save for her pants, which were surprisingly tighter than they were before despite their still somewhat loose appearance lower down her legs.

Link also tightened some belts and holsters she normally did not wear with this outfit. Tightening some pouches and a sheathe in an attempt to still carry most of the equipment she had acquired over their journey. She slid a sword into it’s sheathe on her back before turning her gaze to Midna. “Ready” she uttered.

“Finally!” Midna chirped. “Now that you’re ready, we can get back to repairing the mirror of Twilight. Unless there’s something more important than saving the world?” Midna waited for Link to say something. Possibly object, or even put forth another possibility. But she wouldn’t, much to her surprise.

“Right, we can stop this all right now.” Link nodded in confidence.

“Well then miss hero, let’s get going before you change your mind.” Midna smiled before vanishing into Link’s new shadow. “There’ll be plenty of time for romantic evenings after!”

Link turned to her door and walked outside with confidence. She was ready to resume her quest right where she had left off! She stepped out onto the porch, and…

  1. Set off for Snowpeak
  2. Saw Ilia coming up the road
  3. Began to feel strange
  4. Tried to ignore a growing heat between her legs
  5. Something Else
