I think we should do number 3, and have the wizard trick the emperess into approaching da xaio as a "wife", not realising, of course, that the roles would really be reversed.
I agree with the funny idea for 3 but as a Da Xiao/Xiao Da shipper, I'm saddened.
Well, if there was going to be competition anyway, why not have them competing over a better partner? Xaio da might not take the new ruling lying down...
The combo of 2, 4, and 5 has my vote. It'd let Mei's experience of the imperial bedchamber be far hotter and more enjoyable than she could possibly have hoped, could result in the Emperor knocking up her concubines (as she expects to do) and to getting knocked up herself (which it'd be hilarious to see her rationalize and/or be in denial about), and most importantly, it'd allow Da Xiao and Xiao Da's relationship to continue unimpeded.
Oh, and if it had the side effect of making all women transformed by the spell think their relationships with other such women were totally straight, that'd be a nice bonus.
