"You see the problem, for the ring to work, it need vast amount of power" Crimson explaned cheerful "but for that it useless in it targets hand, and it needed to be in it target hand for it to be able to do it job, in other words, they couldn't have both" "I see, it not like they could have a demon or angel follow that person around" Jim said, seeing the point Crimson was getting at "Saying, excuss me, i just have to recharge that ring that our side is using to own your soul, ever time they use it!" "But the ring does work" Sharon said realising an important fact "You got round that problem of keeping the ring supplied with power, didn't you?"
"Yes, the ring works, because they needed me to make it" Crimson said with a smile "And because i made the ring, and not them, is why it works!"
"Okay, So why you different to them?" Jim asked, still not understanding what Crimson was leading too "Why could you keep the ring charged, how did you get round the problem?"
"Simple, I didn't need to get around the link problem!" Crimson said beaming with pride "Im one of the Seven Sins, As such, im linked to all mortals and immortals and their realms!"
Jim and Sharon were starting to get it, but if any of the Seven could make the link required, why chose Crimson and not another.
"You wondering, why me, out of the seven?" Crimson said guessing what they were thinking "It because they need the ring to change reality, grant the wearer dream or make real the foe knightmare, that come under my area, I admit, i have had a little help from lust in it creation, as i needed her help in certain areas"
"So, I take it both sides were happy with the ring you made?" Jim asked, still not sure how the ring was designed to work, only why Crimson was needed to make it.
"No, both sides wanted a much powerful device to gather souls" Crimson said with a sly smile "You see, the ring is connect through my connection to both realm, given it vast power, too much really, so i limited it"
"Limited it, it dosen't seemed limited to me?" Jim asked confussed "what difference did your limits make?".
"The way they wanted it, was that the wearer would be able to make a unlimited wishes, depending on what those wishes for would judge that person and set their soul as price, so that one side would end up with the soul!" Crimson said smiling still "Problem was, the ring would have a near enough limitless power, and power corrupts in itself if the person isn't strong enough"
"I have to retain a certain amount of balance, so i only agreed to make the ring, if i could limit it power with powerful safety enchantments, that would allow it to do it's job and not be too effective" Crimson said smiling with pure pride "I also added a clause in the ring at the same time i added the safeties, that what really annoyed them"
Jim and Sharon, looked at each other as Crimson finished off his can and realised partly how the ring now did it job. What they didn't unstand, is what Crimson could have added that had pissed off both sides.
"I don't unstand, you said it the ring did it job and worked" Sharon asked, undersanding contracts and clauses "How can a clause upset them so much like you said"
"Haven't you guessed, they wanted the ring to have to outcomes, the soul of the welder to go to one of them" Crimson said, almost laughing with joy "My clause, gave the wearer of the ring two other options for their soul, It how i ended up with Devika Soul!"
"You mean, you wanted souls for yourself, but you said you had your own?" Jim asked, now really confused!
"No, i never wanted them for their soul" Crimson said, the Cheer in his voice now being replace with something else "I did it because i wanted some company!"
"Company, you went against both your bosses, for Company!" Sharon asked, hardly believing what she had just heard.
"Yeah, kinda, you see, my clause made it so, that if the wearer showed real intention of regret for their wishes, i could offer to have their soul instend of the underworld" Crimson said with a smile returning "but what really miffed them, was i also made the ring so, if the wearer realised that the ring was wrong, no matter how many wishes, if they choose to give up the ring and it power, before it was to late, then thier soul would remain their own"
Suddenly, Jim and Sharon understood what Crimson had done and why he was so worried. If the safety was broken, then it stood that his clause would also be efective and the ring was alot more powerful then crimson liked.
