I thought this would be a reasonable explanation for the gem given the clothing change in the previous episode. It's probably not the best for more transformation goodness, but there's a few ways this could head into the rest of the adventure.
I picked the name Aryll because a second Zelda could be confusing and there's a precedent for the name in the series (Link's sister in TWW). I went with Harkinian for her surname because her family is no longer spoken of in legend just like the non-canon games that name is from.
I also made sure I gave a point in the game for this to happen since the original episode was pretty vague. I chose some time after Link got the Master Sword because that lets Midna physically exist outside the Twilight when she wants.
