Deep beneath Tokyo-3 was the vast array of labs and hangars that serviced the giant Evangelion robots.
Chief among all of these was one blonde scientist, Ritsuko Akagi. She was the head of research and development for NERV, in charge of maintaining and improving their fighting ability against the alien threat.
Today however, she was just bored.
Ritsuko sighed, she drummed her fingers on the desk as she stared into the back of her assistant Maya's head. The younger girl was typing away some meaningless report about how many microwave emitters they'd broken this week. All of Ritsuko's gripping, world saving experiments were at their most uninteresting, there wouldn't be any results for days.
Her eyes trailed down to her computer. Punching a few keys idly on her Magi interface, she brought up a file that saw her perking up a bit.
"Well that could certainly pass the time," She mumbled to herself. A new experiment would be just the thing. She just had to find someone to "help".
"Is something wrong sensei?" Maya asked, hearing Ritsuko's musing.
"No," The scientist said, a small smile creeping onto her face.
With a smile of her own, she turned back to her typing. "Sensei seems a little happier today, something good must have happened," Maya thought to herself.
Ritsuko stared at the back of her assistant's head, a slightly different look on her face now. Good tests subjects could be hard to find...
