For those who missed the description in the Things of Power Master Episode:
"This rock appears somewhere innocuous when the intended recipient is walking alone. The rock influences his/her mind to head to it's location, with the person believing it was their own whim to go there rather than an outside influence. Then the rock makes the person pick it up, wish aloud their heart's greatest desire, drop it, continue on their way, and completely forget all about the rock.
The rock will then grant the wish without the wisher even remembering making that wish. At no time will the wish be granted by directly interfering the freewill of anyone other than the wisher. But indirect means of influencing others (pheromones, for example) are fair game for the rock's power. Once the wish has been granted, the rock leaves that world to appear before someone else in another world.
In other words, this is a just a lazy but convenient plot device for any author to kick-start a story that is otherwise all about the characters and how they react to one particular change and/or event."
