"Well before it decide to tell it better, want some food? It's getting late." Akane asked eveyone.
"As long as Akane doesn't cook it." Ranma made his one request.
"Why you!" Akane jumped at Ranma but Ukyo caught her.
Ukyo petted Akane's head. "There, there, my sweet Acchan... Don't let it get to you..."
Ranma was weirded out by Akane purring when Ukyo did that.
"Well, wen you were away, I decided to teach Akane how to cook decently. It took a long time." Ukyo sighed. "A long, long time."
"That feels good..." Akane giggled.
Ranma glanced at Konatsu. "Don't do that to me."
"Wasn't planning to." Konatsu knew how much Ranma hated cats or acting like them.
"Alright I'm good, I'm good." Akane was in a better mood now. "So Ucchan started teaching me how to cook. And now I can cook some things well enough. So please don't tease me about it anymore."
Ranma looked at Ukyo and knew that she wouldn't lie to her like this. "Alright, fine... I'll eat Akane's cooking."
"Good. Because I'm making dinner!" Akane smiled. "Finally I can do it on this trip... But back to the story, when you were gone school was much more quiet."
Shampoo stormed into the classroom through the window carrying a box of food. "Where husband?"
Ukyo shrugged. "Ranma's gone today. Don't know."
Shampoo saw that Ukyo had no food ready for Ranma so she believed her and left the classroom.
Akane made a sigh of boredom. She wished she could go on training trips. School was so boring. And she didn't get to practice martial arts against anyone anymore. Except Kuno but that was often short and annoying.
Ranma interrupted. "Well I couldn't take you on trips because everyone tried to get us together or ruin it in other ways."
Akane glared at Ranma. "Quiet you!"
Ranma eeped and his behind Konatsu. She wanted nice Akane back!
"As I was saying..." Akane continued with her story.
With no Ranma to make food for or to talk to Ukyo talked to Akane more often. They were civil with each other and didn't being up their mutual love interest at all. Akane suggested that they practice with each other but Ukyo said she was too busy. Happosai, her father and Ranma's kept the house chaotic and Akane didn't want to deal with it so she kept going over to her friends' houses. This started to include Ukyo as well.
"So, what have you been up to?" Akane asked Ukyo.
"Work. As usual." Ukyo shrugged. "Nothing exciting."
"Yeah. Me neither." Akane admitted. "So, need help with the place? I can do something."
"That bored huh?" Ukyo asked. "Well since Ranma's gone, no one has been destroying my place so there's not much for you to do."
"I see. It's not like I wanted to work here or anything." Akane turned and walked out.
The next day, Ukyo and Akane were both bored out of their minds so Ukyo suggested just skipping. Akane agreed and they just left campus during lunch.
"Nice cafe." Akane noted, eating the pastries on her plate. "Do you compete with these people?"
Ukyo shook her head. "Romantic places and me have different groups of customers."
"Wait what?" Akane thought she heard romantic places.
The waiter walked by, smiling. "Oh look here, what a cute looking couple! Still in school too! Ah, if only more young love could happen is be a happy man!"
"I'm not a pervert!" Akane defended herself and punched the guy. "Hiya!"
Ukyo just watched in amusement.
"What Ukyo said happened the next day." Akane explained. "And that was an eye opener."
"Still didn't have to pound the guy." Ranma pointed out.
"YES I DID!" Akane huffed. "He had a very punchable face!"
Ukyo shrugged. "Can't argue with that."
