Rikki made a face when she realised how inadequately she was covered by the lab coat, but didn't say anything. Robin seemed to have done the best for her that she could, short of stripping off herself.
Robin escorted her to a laboratory, and introduced her to the members of her team. There were three of them, two young men called Tim and Brian, and a young woman named Felicity. After that, there wasn't much to do for a while but familiarise herself with the equipment and drink coffee, as they were still waiting for the samples from Jim that they would analyse.
After a while, Rikki excused herself to use the adjoining rest room. As the only door giving access to it was the one in the lab, she was allowed to enter it unescorted. It was while there that she happened to put a hand into one of the lab coat's pockets, and was surprised to feel a small plastic card. On extracting it, it proved to be Robin's ID access card. Now had that been carelessness on Robin's part, or had she left it there deliberately? If the former, then Rikki might not have long to make use of it before Robin noticed that it was missing and realised where she must have left it. So if she was to make use of it, she needed to do so as quickly as possible. That could be problematic, though, as it was unlikely that she would be allowed to leave the lab without an escort.
