Tonks stood there, naked, Harry Potter’s clothes and wand and the Harry Potter skinsuit next to her on the floor. “I’m Tonks...” she said softly. “I’m Tonks for the rest of my life.”
Tonks clearly remembered that she wasn’t the original Tonks, but as the poor dear valiant lady had died alongside her beloved Remus, leaving their young son Teddy an orphan, there was a Tonks-shaped hole in the world for her to fill. Harry Potter had served his purpose, and if anyone really wanted to be Harry, the skinsuit on the floor would allow that. She was Tonks. Only the extra Harry memories, added to her own lifetime of memories from early girlhood on, made it seem possible that she had once been Harry Potter... and somehow made her love her Tonks self and body even more...
The Tonks skinsuit no longer existed, but the clothes provided with it were still there, and Tonks put them on, shrinking her breasts momentarily as she often did when her bra was being uncooperative. Dressed now, Tonks found a place in the collection of skinsuits to put the Harry Potter skinsuit and its clothes and wand, and fitted them in tidily. “Goodbye, Harry,” she said aloud though softly. “I quite like you now that I’m myself, but I wouldn’t wish being you on anyone. You’re really best as a skinsuit.”
Tonks left the vast room with the skinsuits and was soon in a familiar part of Hogwarts. She’d never felt so completely contented with body and self when she was Harry. She made her way towards the Headmaster’s office. Surely Professor McGonagall would understand, would help her take up the life of her original, would ensure that Tonks’ son Teddy wouldn’t be an orphan the way poor self-hating Harry Potter had been...
