“Tell me about this dream.” Aileron said as he sat down on the edge of her bed.
She related the dream to him in every detail. “Strange,” She said with a puzzled look. “In the dream I had long hair like I do right now.”
“You are, indeed, going to be a powerful sorceress.” He told her. “Your power is already manifesting itself in the form of dream visions. We really need to get your training underway.”
He reached over and patted her leg. “Don’t you worry about the vision though, it usually just mean a turning point in your life. This doesn’t mean anything bad and can be something very minor. As you get more powerful you will be able to decipher them and guide you own destiny more easily.”
“Well,” She said. “You better get out of here then and let me get ready for the dinner party.”
“I take it that you are going to wear the dress then?” He asked.
“Far be it for me to insult a dragon’s gifts.” She said with a smile.
“Ok then. I will send in one of the chambermaids to assist you in getting ready.” He said as he headed out.
Soon a maid entered and helped her into the dress and then sat her down to help with her hair and makeup.
“You have such lovely hair, my lady.” The maid gushed as she was pinning it up for her.
Aniko couldn’t seem to understand everyone’s fascination with her hair. ‘Haven’t they ever seen a bl…?’ She stopped herself as she looked at the dark skinned Middle Eastern woman.
‘God!’ She laughed to herself. ‘I mush be a real blond!’ she realized that she hadn’t see any other blonds anywhere else in the city. All the people around there seemed to be what she would have determined to be of Middle East or African of decent.
‘I must be the only fair skinned blond in the region.’ She laughed to herself. ‘No wonder everyone is looking at me.’
When the maid was done she turned her around to the mirror. “Is this ok, my lady?”
“It’s wonderful!” Aniko replied. ‘Just like in my vision.’ She thought to herself.
She headed out to the living area where Aileron was waiting.
She twirled around for him, showing off her new dress. She was wearing the low-heeled slippers that came with the dress but they were growing more and more comfortable on her feet the longer she wore them.
“You are a vision of pure beauty.” He told her as he offered his arm. “Shall we go?” He was dressed just like she saw in her dream.
Aniko blushed at his slight pun as she slipped up to him and looped her arm through his. As they headed down the stairs to an awaiting carriage she felt proud, as every eye in the hotel seemed to be watching them.
During the ride to the dinner she turned to Aileron.
“I’ve been avoiding this question, but I really need to know.” She started nervously. “What happened to Robin when I permanently took over her body?”
“Well, you didn’t just take over her body. You merged with her.” He explained. “There is no more Robin, or Jim for that matter. You are both of them. You are Aniko, the child of both of them combined.”
Aniko thought about this for a few minutes. This revelation seemed to make her much more comfortable in her new body. “I guess that’s a good thing then.” She finally concluded.
“Yes it is.” He told her with a warm smile.
Once they arrived at the party they were shown in and seated. Aniko sat there quietly and watched all the excitement around her. Soon after dinner the music started. As people got up and started to dance she heard a voice behind her.
