Becca wept as she emptied what felt like gallons of milk into the city reservoir. She had been at it for almost an hour, and it pained her to realize that her milk must be having an effect all over town.
"Don't cry, Becca," a disembodied voice said in her ear. "I'm so sorry I couldn't be here for you. Things will be all right now."
Becca immediately sat up, and almost by magic, her breasts ceased to gush milk.
"Min?" she asked, her voice full of hope. "I thought you were dead!" She could not help but cry even harder. Tears were streaming down her face
A golden light appeared in front of her. It assumed human shape, then features emerged. It looked like Min, but a perfect Min, with beauty beyond human comprehension. It was all Becca could do to avoid falling down and worshipping her oldest friend.
"It's me," Min stated. "And more than me. The Dean's punch nearly killed me. Mark saved me by joining with me. We're two minds together, now, sharing one existence."
"That doesn't matter," Becca said. "When I thought I had lost you, I was worried you were gone forever. I don't know what I would have done without you, Min. I love you. I know I've never said it, but you give meaning to my life."
Now it was Min's turn to weep uncontrollably. While she sobbed and grabbed Becca in a tight hug, another self appeared, with the same vaguely Asian features and perfect body.
"I should think I matter just a little bit," Mark said. "And we have a lot to talk about before we get all weepy."
Becca broke away from the hug, looking confused. "You're really two people?"
The being who just spoke now spoke with Min's mannerisms. "I'm afraid so. Mark and I are kind of the same person now. Do you think you would be okay with that?"
While Becca was thinking, Mark interrupted. "Look, you don't have to agree to marry us now or anything. That question can wait. For now we need to know what's going on with Julie. I mean, what the fuck?"
Becca flushed, embarrassed at having forgotten for a while about the existential threat to human existence.
"We checked in on the sorority house," Min said. "Things are weird there. Tanya, Maggie, and Miguel are all stone statues in the back yard. There are a bunch of tieflings and succubi going at in the pool, and Julie is running the show, looking like the Dean without the snakey bits."
Becca was horrified at what had happened to her friends. "That sounds about right," she said, trembling. "We have to stop her! Do you still have the power from that gradient soda we drank? Can't you drain her power or something?"
"We thought about that," Mark said, with a tone that suggested billions of minds working together. "But look what happened each time someone drank that demon soda. They went nuts, Becca. And if we took that power for ourselves, Becca...were already more powerful than anyone should be."
Becca pulled away, because she needed to pace. Pacing helped her to think.
"We won't do anything unless you agree to it," Min said, approaching Becca and squeezing her hand.
