"Well, thanks, I'd be happy to. I was around when the BEaddventure started, and I signed several episodes as Jazz, which was the music I was listening to. I signed a few episodes : ) because I was in a good mood, or the preceding episode was good or funny. However, I was consistent, I never signed any of the more complex smilies. For a while I tried to keep the names separate, signing a furry influenced episode Fox Mulder or Jake T Catt. That way people would know what kind of an episode it was just by the author. I started signing short episodes, or ones I hadn't put much effort into, yzal for being lazy.
I signed the prolific episodes at a time when I was writing a lot, that's all that that one means. After a while I started signing any episode with any name, because I didn't think anyone was paying attention to the names. I'm yzal in the Forum because I lost my Jake password during an operating system install. We're not the only ones to use several names or Avatars, I've seen some authors names evolve a little over time. It sure feels like some of the different names are by the same authors.
Here's what I think about the backlinking. I know some people don't like it but I do. I haven't used it much but it can be used cleverly. Those who don't like it often worry about continuity, but actually with a little planning it's possible to write threads that backlink on themselves without contradiction. So long as information isn't mentioned in future episodes that contradicts a thread there is no laps in continuity. For instance, in an episode Jim tries out his perfume on Sharon, and her breasts expand to EE or MM. Each episode has a vivid description of either case, and then they link to the same episode. So long as future episodes merely refer to Sharon's breasts as big, there is no lapse in continuity.
