Beth threw Dale into the shack, following him in while Morgan locked the door. Thankfully, it was still secure as ever. Beth pulled the shades on the two windows and clicked on the light.
“Wow,” he said, “Nice place.”
“Thanks,” Morgan said with an even expression, before reaching out and grabbing his dress shirt collar. “Tell anyone else about it, and I’ll slug you so hard, your memories will be sore.”
Dale nodded vigorously. “Y-yeah, sure, no p-problem, you betcha!”
She released her grip, and settled down cross-legged on the floor mat. Beth took a place on the floor, while Dale huddled by the door. They passed the next few hours mostly in silence, while Morgan meditated and prayed.
Beth idly thumbed through some of the New Age texts on spiritual shape shifting. A few months ago, she would have dismissed such things out of hand. Of course, to her knowledge a few months ago, magic, other dimensions, and weretigers didn’t exist.
She’d read a good third of one of the books (and felt she understood some of what Morgan had said about uniting her human and tigress sides, maybe enough to do it herself with some practice) when Morgan came out of her meditative trance.
“I know what to do now,” she said, smiling broadly.
Beth looked at her with a mixture of affection and confusion. “What do you mean?”
She beamed like Beth had never seen. “While I was praying, I found out what I need to do. I know how to reunite with the tigress, forever this time.”
