The girl sucked in her breath, hesitating as she struggled with years of slave conditioning that warned of the consequences of expressing opinions in the presence of one's betters. Clenching her fists, she finally managed to spit out with only half-controlled bitterness: "Anything would be better than this docile prison."
The girl gasped, shaking her head and flushing in the dimly lit inspection chamber as the answer slipped out, but Sharon just nodded... and Kane just stood there, impassive. "Indeed," the gladiatrix nodded, "Indeed it would be. I can't promise you an easy life, girl, but I can promise you that with hard work and fighting spirit, you'll never be forced to milk goats and flee the boot of an embittered old master. There's no shame in slavery as a gladiatrix -- unless you fail, and then you won't suffer to live with it." Sharon wasn't sure how much of that she believed and how much was for the benefit of the master that suffered a slave to make decisions for him.. but she knew that the idea of serving as some rich family's weakling milkmaid repulsed her thoroughly now.
Sharon looked the girl over with a stern eye now. She seemed determined now -- her jaw was set and her thick breasts quivered as she breathed slowly, thrusting her chest forward and her fists clenched at her side. She was raw, but she had potential -- or so Sharon thought.
