But then Britney paused. While all of these methods of revenge would be catastrophic, they would only indirectly benefit her. Worse still, people would pity Christina if this happened to her. What would my agent do? Britney thought to herself. Furrowing her brow in a rare episode of concentrated thought, she concentrated and, for once, was rewarded with a devilish plan.
"What if she were given my voice?"
"Pardon me?"
"Could you make it so that every time she spoke, every time she sang, she would speak with my exact voice?"
Clearly impressed for the first time in a while, Thomas Paget took a moment to reply. "I don't see why not," he said. "That's a fascinating idea Ms. Spears."
"It's not like it would be a punishment," Britney was quick to add.
Finishing her sentence, Paget continued the thought, "But everyone would think that she was just pathetically aping you. Very clever."
Britney nearly stopped the whole thing right there and was just shy of tearing up as she absorbed the compliment. This was the first time in a long while someone had sincerely complimented her intelligence. It made her briefly want to forget the whole feud with Christina.
"That's great," Britney responded. "But can I choose the next change after I see how this one pans out?"
