Jim and Sharon were married.

It was over.

It was done with.

But at what cost?



Later...

Jim and Sharon stepped into the company-provided limousine, labeled in large letters, CC.

A smaller sign on the back read, "Just married."

On their trip to the vehicle, sand, rather than rice, had been thrown at them.

Therefore, once in the limo, Jim jokingly said "I think I got some sand in my eye, hair, and pretty much the whole body."

It was a terrible joke, and Jim knew it, but he also knew that something had to be said.

He looked towards Sharon for a response, but she was glaring at him.

"What's wrong, Mrs. Ellis?" Jim asked.

"Karen. I can't believe we did that." Sharon said. "I can't believe we let them do that."

"Sharon," Jim said. "She's obviously unbalanced."

"No." Sharon said. "She wasn't unbalanced, she wasn't crazy. Karen wasn't psycho, she was just in love."

"So, then why are you bringing it up now?" Jim asked.

"You heard what they were going to do to her! They're going to torture her! Torture worse than death to ge what they want!" Sharon cried out.

"Well, what do you think we should do, then? Should we have the limo driver take us to the ChangeCorp. offices? Should we do that?" Jim asked.

And Sharon told him.

  1. "Yes." Sharon said. "Driver, please take us to ChangeCorp."
  2. "No, Jim. I already have a plan."
  3. Sharon responded, "Actually, Jim, you should go to work tomorrow and rescue her then."
  4. *"No." Sharon sighed. "I guess that we probably shouldn't do that."
  5. Something else.
