Well, this seals my fate.

I'm going to have to make a whole entire artificial, synthetic Third Backstage, then make sure it gets destroyed before anyone complains.


As Jim and Sharon ran along the corridor, neither of them even noticed the man standing in gray until they nearly ran into them.

"Who are you?" Jim asked, "And how did you sneak up in front of us?"

The man was silent, giving Sharon and Jim a chance to study him.

He was dressed in a business suit of grey, wearing a bizarre-looking glove over one of his hands, and holding a note in the other.

Finally, he said, "My name is Doctor Commander."

"Uh--"

"Where did everyone go?"

"What do you mean?" Sharon asked. "They all left just as the Alt started collapsing, though I guess we know know they don't actually collapse."

"Wait, this is a collapsed Alt? I just transported myself into a collapsed Alt?"

"Yeah." Jim said. "How did you--"

"I must report this."

The man pressed a button on his glove, and disappeared suddenly.

Jim and Sharon looked all around, but it was of no use.

He was gone.

  1. Jim and Sharon returned to Karen to tell her about their meeting.
  2. A moment later, he reappeared.
  3. *Jim and Sharon opted to continue searching.
  4. We follow the Doctor.
  5. SE
