As the duplicate of Melissa watched the double of her master's girlfreind pop out of the pod, a wave of tiredness swept over her like a sheet. As she got to her feet, a second hit her and she fell back into the armchair. Then a large pain burst from her stomach, bending her over in agony. A tear fell from her eye and landed on Jim's hide jacket, which she has borrowed. Unzipping it, she opened it up to reveal a growing bump on her stomach. Something was happening, and it wasn't until she couldn't see her feet that she realised she had become pregnant at an accelerated rate! What was wrong with her???
She fell onto the floor spread eagled, and bucked violently as something forced it's way out of her. When it had finished, she sat up and looked over. There, covered and surrounded by her own fluid, was a large egg or seed of some sort. As she watched, the "capsule" cracked and five tentacles emerged from the opening. They waved gently in the air and directed their tips in different directions. It was as if it was...looking for something! Suddenly, four of the tentacles grabbed hold of the floor and stodd it upright, with only one not joining the others.
As quick as a flash, it moved. Wow, did it move! Like a small dog it darted across the room to the corner, where Sharon's spider plant was kept and watered.
Melissa's eyes watered as she witnessed this...seed...climb up the plant pot and wrap three of it's tendrils around the stem of the plant, and the remaining two plunged themselves into the soil. Little bursts of something were being pumped into the plant from this seed, and Pod Melissa watched as the shape of the spider plant shifted and changed colour. To finish it off, the seed burrowed it's way into the soil and covered itself back up. Then all was silent.
Blinking for the first time since she had started watching, Melissa walked over to the spider plant...or what was the spider plant, for now it looked EXACTLY like the plant that had assaulted her on the mountain. She smiled slightly, wiped some tears from her eyes, and two words managed to breathily escape her lips.
"My..baby"
