Katie swallowed the hamburger and waited.
Nothing happened.
Katie grinned. It wasn’t real! Nothing was going to happen to her. She wolfed down the rest of the hamburger and put the plate in the sink.
“I’m not going to turn into a cow,” Katie thought to herself. She was ecstatic. Then she frowned. “Tiff is really going to get it when I see her on Monday. Scaring me like that was not funny.”
Kate walked down the hall to the living room. After that scare she just wanted to relax. She popped in one of her favorite DVDs and curled up on the couch.
About a half an hour into the movie, Katie started to feel uncomfortable. She tried shifting her position on the couch, but it didn’t help. Something was wrong; her pants didn’t fit right.
