Normally, Akane had little to no trouble in getting around. She was a martial artist after all, and she could avoid most obstacles pretty easily. If she couldn't dodge them, then they were something that she tended to be able to bash away, especially since they tended to be of the 'attacking back' sort.
Given that she was a bit distracted at the moment, her natural grace was stunted a bit. Combined with the fact that she was hurrying, it was made so that she wasn't being quite as careful as she might have been. This wouldn't have been a problem in most cases, but then she was in a library, with thin aisles, sight blocking shelves, and blind corners.
So, it was understandable that she would turn around a stack of books and come up to bump into another person.
