She'd been distracted by a sense that there was something that she should know, something that was waiting for her, but couldn't put a hold on it. Whatever it was, it was sliding a strange sensation over her body, with aches in all sorts of places that she didn't normally think about. It was simply disorienting, and made her have to focus to get to move in a controlled way.
But when Akane looked up to see that Ranma had caught her before she fell to the floor, she could only blink in surprise at him. "Ranma? I thought you left."
"I did," the pigtailed boy grumbled, looking put out. "But ya took so long ta get back, I kinda hadta... come check in on ya."
"Really? I knew that it was late, but still...."
"Akane, it's almost dinnertime."
"It is? Oh no, I didn't think that I'd be that lost in the book!" she yelped in dismay.
"Well ya were, and until I came here, there wasn't any way ta know if ya were in trouble. But then ya come slammin' inta me, and...."
"Yes?"
It was as if he suddenly realized something important. "Sorry about this!"
"Huh? What are you talking about?"
"Well, I... that is...."
"Just spit it out."
"I didn't mean for this to happen!" he choked out.
For a long moment, she turned her attention to trying to figure out just what had him so spooked... and that let her realize that she was being held in his arms. Not only that, but his hands were cupping her bottom, and her breasts were squashed against his chest. With her face so close to his, it was like her soft lips could meet his mouth in a kiss within moments.
