Ino picked up the small device labeled "SWITCHEROO" and shrugged. "What the heck. If nothing else, it would make a nice paperweight," she mused, trying rather pathetically to rationalize the risk of her purchase.
She brought it up to the counter and placed it there. The old man who was manning the register looked down at it and back up to Ino. He smiled a crooked smile. "Will that be all for you today, young lady?" he asked, sounding quite happy about doing his job.
"Yes," Ino affirmed simply.
"Very well then," he said, pushing some buttons on the register, never losing his lop-sided grin. "Would you like a bag for that?"
Ino shook her head. "No...that's alright."
"Well then, I hope you enjoy your purchase and have a wonderful day," he said pleasantly.
"Err...thanks. You too," she offered, trying not to show how off-putting she found his all-too-eager smile.
And with that, she picked up the Switcheroo and advanced back out into the sunlight.
She began to walk as she studied the thing. Turned it over in her hands, looking for something she hadn't seen before. Something else about the strange little gadget. She shook it to hear if it sounded broken, but nothing gave her that impression.
As promised, there were no buttons. Just the "Neuro-link" talked of in the description.
'Well,' she thought, 'I guess I should try it...stupid as this seems...' But who to test it on?
