The blond Kunoichi wandered away from the electronics section, smiling at this store's silliness. It was a fun place to come for gag gifts. That much was certain.
Now she found herself in a section of the store that seemed to be focused on games.
First, she picked up what looked like a spinner out of a board game box. It's label named it, "The Karma Wheel." It had the spinning pointer, but other than that, it was completely blank. She looked at the back of the package to see if she could find out anything else about this strange product. There were instructions on the back that informed her that she had to think about a specific aspect of a specific person and then spin the wheel to determine how that aspect of said person would change, based on chance.
Ino giggled, then thought of her friend Sakura and focused on her hair. It would be interesting to see Sakura with long hair again. She closed her eyes and spun the wheel, sure that nothing would happen anyway. She waited a moment, then opened her eyes and looked down at the still-blank wheel. She shook her head, chiding herself for being so silly. Then she took another look at the wheel and words were appearing at the top of it. They read, "Please purchase item before use."
Ino blinked and looked it over again, wondering just how that text had come up. But she could find no trick to it. And when she looked again, it was blank once more.
She set it down again, and went on to see what else was in this section. The wheel had her intrigued. She wasn't sure how had pulled off that trick, but it did seem rather cool, the way it did it.
The next thing she picked up looked like an old toy. The surface was gray, but bright pink letters like everyone know what it was called. The "SWITCHEROO," as it were. Ino raised an eyebrow and turned it over, seeing a set of instructions on the back.
SWITCHEROO! A Party Classic now updated with exclusive “Neuro-Link Plus!”
DIRECTIONS:
No more cumbersome buttons. Just “Think” your commands and they will be done.
1.) Visualize the two party members you want to SWITCHEROO
2.) Visualize what body parts or traits you want to SWITCHEROO
3.) Have Fun!
4.) To reset the changes back to normal, just………..
Unfortunately, the remainder of the instructions had been torn off, leaving everyone else to guess at just how to reset the changed. Ino giggled at the thought of what one could do with something that could really pull off what this advertised. It would certainly make for some very funny situations.
Still curious about what else was in the section, she went on.
The next object she picked up looked like a tiny metal ladder with 8 rungs and a pointer on the left side, which could be moved up and down the ladder. There was a tiny card attached to the ladder by a string. Ino grabbed in and read:
"The Social Ladder
Tired of your place on the social ladder?
Perhaps someone else’s place has got you down?
Just imagine the person you want to change, adjust to desired Social level, and have fun!"
Ino looked at the ladder again. The rungs were currently quite blank, but she wondered if, like with The Karma Wheel, imagining might make text appear on them. 'Not until I buy it,' she thought to herself, now becoming more and more tempted to purchase some of these items.
She set it down and moved along in the section to a place that had several board games. One was called, "Transform or Dare," which promised that those who pledged to play it would be bound do doing or becoming, whichever the case might be, whatever the other player stipulated.
Another seemed to be a game in which players moved along toward the finish, landing on different classes of 'Transformation spaces,' drawing cards and being transformed based on what was on the card.
There were many others with a variety of impossible and fantastic themes.
All this sounded like quite a time, if any of it was actually possible. And yet Ino was having a hard time resisting the temptation to really buy some of the items...just to see.
What was she to do?
