It’s a fifteen minute walk up the steps of the Hokage’s tower. About five minutes in Hinata commented, “These steps go on forever.” She would have been climbing forever it twenty minutes later she hadn’t said, “I have to be close now.”
Soon she walked into the room where teams wait while awaiting missions. She gave a few nods, which everyone knew was her greeting and took her seat. Hinata had come early so she wasn’t late. Kiba, however, was late. Perhaps the staircase was still a mobius strip. Kurenai cursed Kiba as irresponsible, and Sakura nodded in agreement, mostly because she was too timid to argue.
Hinata was a little nervous. She doesn’t know Tsunade outside of her assignment meetings and worried that maybe the Hokage doesn’t like her.
She excused herself and went to the washroom.
Awhile ago, Hinata read a self help article about daily affirmations. It said when you have negative thoughts, look yourself in the eye and negate them by saying something positive.
Hinata looked at herself in the mirror and said: “Tsunade likes me. She likes me very much. What faults I have she would gladly help me to overcome. She is proud of me. She wan’t me to become a great ninja just like her.”
