"We need you to help further the project." Mr. Williams said.
"What project?" Jim asked him.
"Come with me," Mr. Williams said, and with that he left the room.
Jim had no choice but to follow him.
They walked in silence, and eventually arrived at a room marked 30905/34315.
Mr. Williams slid his keycard through a security scanner, and then punched in his access code.
The door slid open, and the two of them walked in.
"You see Mr. Ellis, several years ago there was an experiment by a small company known as BlackCo. They were conducting experiments on many people, including your girlfriend, Ms. McCormack." Mr. Williams explained. "In one of their major experiments, they shrank people, including Ms. McCormack, down to the size of dolls. They then made these people into ACTUAL dolls."
"That's horrible!" Jim exclaimed.
"Yes, it is. But there was a major detail. You, Mr. Ellis, were influential in saving her, by informing a group of rogue agents known as the UNA." Mr. Williams informed him.
"I've never heard of them." Jim said.
"Actually, Mr. Ellis, not only did you contact them, but you are a member of them."
"How can I be a member of something I've never heard of?" Jim asked.
"We don't know, Mr. Ellis. If your memory had been wiped, then we would know. It seems that the fact of your membership does exist, but it's gone from the world." Mr. Williams said.
"So then, what's the project?" Jim asked.
"Observe," Mr. Williams said. He pointed at the screen, which was twice as wide as the other screen. "Watch."
Mr. Williams pressed left button, and an image appeared, taking up half of the screen.
It began playing the events of episodes 30905 and 34315.
When it was over, Mr. Williams took a small device out of his pocket, and pressed a button.
The entire screen lit up, and the events of episodes 34676, 34681, and onwards. At episode 35439, the screen split into two and continued with the alternate threads. When one of them died out, the other took up the whole screen, and detailed events with the UNA.
It finished playing, and Jim looked over at Mr. Williams.
"What the hell is that?" Jim asked.
"These are events that have taken place, but seem to have disappeared. We need you to help us understand why."
"But why?"
"Because, Mr. Ellis. You are a constant, along with Ms. McCormack." Mr. Williams said.
