Unending BE - episode 342354

Jim parked his car in the company garage.

He did a quick check to make sure that he was dressed for the occaision, and he rode the elevator to ground level.

Jim entered the building.

The lobby was a busy room with dozens of conservatively dressed people moving about its tiled floor.

Jim walked up to the front desk.

"Hello." Jim said.

The conservatively dressed receptionist eyed him suspiciously.

"Can I help you?" She asked Jim.

Jim involuntarily shuddered at the iciness of her voice, but he ignored it.

"Yes, my name is James Ellis (341664) and I'm here to start my job today." Jim said.

The receptionist looked down at her computer screen, hit a few keys, and looked back up at Jim.

"Of course, Mr. Ellis." She said. "15^th floor, room 42. They'll be expecting you."

"Thank you," Jim said.

The receptionist stared at him blankly, and then picked up the phone as it began to ring.

Jim walked away over to the elevator.

He went inside, and the doors closed.

"Hello there, I am your lift. Where would you like me to take you? I can go up or down." the elevator said.

Jim was a little unnerved by the talking elevator, but he did his best to not show it.

"I'm going up." Jim said.

"Or down."

"Well I'd like to go up." Jim said.

"Down's very nice you know..."

"I don't doubt it. Maybe you can show me sometime." Jim said. "But for now, please take me up to the 15^th floor."

The elevator sighed.

"Very well..."

The elevator began to rise, and once it reached its destination, Jim got off and began searching for room 42.

He finally found it, and he knocked on the door.

"Come in, Mr. Ellis..." A voice said from inside.

Jim opened the door, and went inside...
